About the NGFM

The New Glasgow Farmers market is located along the beautiful riverfront in the heart of downtown New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.

We are a non-profit cooperative serving Pictou County, Nova Scotia. We provide home-grown local produce and meats, baked goods, food to eat on site & take away, and a wide variety of high-quality local art & crafts.

Our market is a social gathering place where you can listen to great music, eat great food, and meet friends & neighbours. It’s a must-see destination for visitors who want to experience the real vibe of Nova Scotia hospitality!

The mission of the New Glasgow Farmers Market (NGFM) is to foster a vibrant, inclusive community by providing a space that supports local farmers, artisans, and small businesses, while offering access to fresh, locally-sourced food. The market aims to enhance community engagement, cultural exchange, and economic growth in Northern Nova Scotia, creating a welcoming environment for all residents, visitors, and entrepreneurs. Through its diverse offerings and community-focused events, NGFM strengthens local food security and supports the wellbeing of its community.

  1. When do you start up again? We’re visiting Nova Scotia and will be in your area on May 15-17. We would love to go to a farmers market on Saturday but will not be near Halifax. Thank you!

    • Hi Anne! Thanks for your message! We opened for 2020 on January 11th and will be open every Saturday until December 19th, 2020. We also have 4 weeknight Markets as well. We’d love to see you when you visit in May!

  2. Is your Farmer’s Market indoor or outdoor, or both? My husband and I will be in the area this weekend, but we’ll have our pup in tow!

    • We are both indoor and outdoor! Pets are welcome in the outdoor areas as long as they are supervised and on leash. Due to health regulations, pets are not permitted inside the Market buildings. 🐾
