Al Writes mostly easy listening songs and ballads, is not caught up in any genre of musical styles, he loves to listen to and write original songs.
In the fall of 2004, Al created a song cafe where songwriters were challenged to write a song every week. He was Talent co-coordinator, seminar co-coordinator & VP of the Songwriter’s Association of Nova Scotia from 1998-2002
Al also hosted A Song Circle at Windsor Imperial Theatre Oct.2002 Featured performer at No Smoke Folk, put on by the Harbour Folk Society, March 2002, Appeared on Breakfast Television Nov 2001
Al is currently writing songs and making demo’s in Nashville.Top 3 are demos, currently pitching songs to recording artists.
Al’s Song “I’m a Soldier” written with Ed Oakley, was given honourable mention with special recognition in the 2011 International Songwriting Competition!. Al has recorded his first CD called The Pepperell St.Sessions.
