Vendor Spotlight- Piedmont Pottery

This week our vendor spotlight features Gary Fredericks of Piedmont Pottery.

Gary was born and raised in Halifax.  He attended Sheridan College School of Crafts and Design from 1975-78.  After graduation, he & his wife purchased property in Piedmont, Pictou County. Gary’s studio was up and running in the Fall of 1978. Gary has been throwing functional stoneware pottery for the past 38 years.

This year, marks Gary’s fifth season at the Market.  He enjoys going to the Market to have direct contact with his customers, and is encouraged by getting his customers thoughtful feedback on his product.

Gary adds, “The people of Pictou County and surrounding areas have been very supportive to me over the years, and this appears to have carried forward to the Farmers Market throughout the market season.  Orders for my pottery at the Market are welcomed.”

“P.S.  If Dad drinks coffee, my mugs are my greatest seller – I’m sure he’d appreciate receiving one!”
